Dear Friend,
How are you holding up these days?
If you’ve been anywhere near me, you know my heart has been a little unsteady—too much worry, too much noise, not enough grounding. So, I’ve been trying to quiet the static.
What have I been doing to make things better for myself? I’ve deleted the social media apps off my phone. I carry a notebook to jot down small wonders. And I’m making more room for real moments—saying hi, smiling at strangers, holding open doors. The little things that remind me we’re still here, together.
And poetry, well, it’s been carrying me.
There’s so much in the world right now, so I’ll keep this simple since it’s been awhile since I’ve written—I’m glad you’re here. I’m glad we get to share this space, even in this small way.
So, if no one has said this to you today—Happy Valentine’s Day. I’m glad you’re on this planet/
With love, Kells
Also, I plan to send real Valentine's Day cards by snailmail next year. If you want one, just reply with your name and address, and I’ll add you to my mailing list.
P.S. If you ever want to connect, find me at kelli@agodon.com xo
Thank you Kelli,
I share your strategy of noticing small wonders. In 2021 I started writing a Haiku every morning, (printing it in the daily square of the calendar), to force me to look for something around me I hadn't notice, or to see a thing I use every day in a new way. It is a life giving practice. I now have a 4 year record of the connections I made with the world. Happy Valentine's Day
Yesterday's Haiku:
bright sunny days
night still governs behavior
full moon tries to help
Thank you Kelli. My heart is broken for so many reasons. Thank you for this little beacon.
